There are two major schools of thought as to the reason why priests are raping children. The first is that they were sexual predators to begin with and only chose to become a priest to have an opportunity to be alone with children. The second is, due to their strict abstinence, their bodies enter a state of sexual need and their desires begin to build until they reach a breaking point. At this time, their sexual desires have reached a place of darkness and, instead of having a healthy sexual relationship, they molest children.

I am of the belief that the latter is true. Abstinence is a dangerous game. Our bodies have evolved to reproduce over millions of years. This is, in fact, one of the main goals we have instinctually directly behind basic survival. Through evolution, we did not necessarily get the desire to reproduce, but we developed lustful desires, which had the effect of sexual reproduction. With evolution, we do not always develop direct links to that which makes us more fit for survival. Sometimes, the ties are indirect like we see here with lust and love. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE →

The Ten ComandmentsI am writing this for all of you Christians out there who hold the claim that Jesus “fulfilled” the Old Testament and this, some how, makes God’s commands in it irrelevant.  The Old Testament is still in effect. Well, according to your Bible it is. I want to clarify that I am an Atheist. However, I am a former devout Christian and this is one of the big things that aided in my loss of faith. When I cite the horrendous acts of God of the Old Testament, Christians will undoubtedly say, “Well, that was the old testament. Those laws are not in effect anymore.” Of course, when I ask them why it is not in effect anymore, they will say it is because Jesus “fulfilled” the Old Testament law.

First of all, that word fulfilled does not mean what you think it means. I can fulfill the laws of America right now, and I do, by obeying them. This does not make these laws not apply to people anymore. Secondly, when you are saying that Jesus fulfilled the law, you are referencing a piece of scripture. The scripture is as follows. We have been asked a few times why we focus on Christianity. Instead of addressing this on the show, I decided to write a blog about it. The main reason is that we both come from Christian backgrounds. For me, I gave my entire life to the faith. I fasted regularly, and spent all day in prayer. At 18, after I was “born again”…. again, I moved away from my home town specifically to get away from everyone I knew. I found a church and spent all day dedicated to God. I didn’t watch TV. I didn’t listen to music. I abstained from dating and tried to rid myself of everything I thought was impure. I literally spent all day either reading the Bible, praying, or preaching to people. We were under prepared for this episode (#3). At the last minute, we decided to skip a topic that we had both been preparing to discuss, which was about taxing the churches. This left us with two things we had only prepared to mention briefly, Atheism Plus and Circumcision. I apologize if it seems like we had to drag those topics out, because that is exactly what we did.

This week we are going to try to take a different approach. We want this show to be a call in show. We were hoping to get theists eager to call in to discuss their religion, but this is harder than we originally thought. It appears that they are not coming to us, so we will go to them. We are going to get in touch with various members of many churches and see if we can schedule a call with theists during the show.

We will keep you guys posted on this progress as the week gets closer to the end.
